Research Platform for Curatorial and Cross-disciplinary Cultural Studies, Practice-Based Doctoral Programme

A co-operation of the Department of Art at the University of Reading (UK) with the Postgraduate Programme in Curating at the Zurich University for the Arts, Institute Cultural Studies, Department Cultural Analysis (CH)

The Department of Art at the University of Reading in collaboration with the Postgraduate Programme in Curating is offering a new doctoral program for research in and as curatorial and/or artistic practice. Research students are enrolled at the University of Reading and the Postgraduate Programme in Curating is hosting a research group and offers opportunities for teaching and lecturing in Higher Education. The new PhD programme specializes in offering established curators, artists, art critics and designers from all disciplines the critical framework to focus on specific curatorial and cultural research topics in order to earn a Doctorate from the University of Reading through a combined theoretical andpractical approach.

PhD-Kooperation mit der Universität Oldenburg

Prof. Dr. Sigrid Schade kooperiert mit der Universität Oldenburg, an der sie Privatdozentin ist und wo sie Doktoranden als Erstgutachterin anmelden kann.

Ein Hochschul- oder Fachhochschulabschluss ist Voraussetzung, nicht aber ein Doktoratsstudium.

Doktorate sind möglich in folgenden Bereichen:

  • Materielle und visuelle Kultur
  • Visual Studies
  • Kunstwissenschaft und kulturwissenschaftliche Gender Studies
  • Kulturanalysen und Kunstpädagogik

 

InteressentInnen wenden sich bitte direkt an Prof. Dr. Sigrid Schade.

Angenommene Doktoranden sind zur Teilnahme am regelmässigen Doktorandenkolloquium im ICS verpflichtet.

Z-Node

PhD-Programm im Rahmen der Zürcher Kooperation mit dem Planetary Collegium an der University of Plymouth (Z-Node)

Das Institut Cultural Studies in Art, Media and Design bietet seit Oktober 2004 für PhD-Forschende ein dreijähriges Promotionsstudium in Zusammenarbeit mir der University of Plymouth an. Die ForscherInnen-Gruppe in Zürich (Z-Node) ist Teil des Planetary Collegium der University Plymouth. Dessen Direktor, Prof. Roy Ascott, leitet eine Gruppe mit 17 weiteren Forschenden. Die Vize-Direktorin und erste Supervisorin in Zürich ist Prof. Dr. Jill Scott.
